Robert "Bob" Burnham Obituary

 

Charlton – Robert Lyndon “Bob” Burnham, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday October 16, 2020 at the Overlook Masonic Home Healthcare Center.

Bob is survived by his wife Tina (Tonon) Burnham, to whom he has been married for sixty-two years; two sons” Robert Lyndon “Lyndy” Burnham Jr and his wife Debra LoGiudice Burnham of Stow, MA, and Luke A. Burnham of Concord, MA; his brother John Burnham of Melbourne, FL; four grandchildren: Mahreana Burnham Hopson and her husband Van of Middletown, RI, Erik Lyndon Burnham of Stow, MA, Noah Burnham and Jonah Burnham both of Concord, MA; he was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Nancy Tapper Burnham in January of this year.

Bob was born in Winchester, MA on September 30, 1933, son of the late Lyndon Barker and Annette “Anne” (Lansing) Burnham; he earned his master’s degree in computer science, working as a computer education specialist for IBM, Honeywell, and Oracle.  Bob was a longtime Mason belonging to the Rose of Sharon Lodge A.F.&A.M.; he was also a member of the Charlton Federated Church.  Bob was a Master Mason for 60 years and a member of several lodges in eastern Massachusetts; he had a Bachelor’s Degree in Astronomy from Brown University and a Master’s Degree  in Education from Northeastern University.  Bob was an active participant and leader of the resident community at The Overlook in Charlton; he consulted for the Town of Charlton MA on their Bylaws Committee and was a longtime teacher of English as a second language for the Literacy Volunteers of South Central Massachusetts. Bob was also an Amateur Radio Operator with the FCC call K1NON.

The Shaw-Majercik Funeral home, 48 School Street Webster, MA is honored to assist Bob’s family with funeral arrangements.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be conducted by the family at a later date.  Please omit flowers.
