Rochelle W. Jedrzynski
1935-2024
Rochelle lived a long life in Dudley and passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, peacefully in her sleep, after a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Many years ago, Rochelle came into the world, the daughter of Eileen Jezerski and Fredrich Kruger. She was born in sunny West Palm Beach, Floride, but she spent most of her early years far to the north, living in Worcester, Webster, and Dudley, where she lived most of her life.
Recalling some of her most meaningful memories, Rochelle frequently cited the love and tender care she received from her Worcester family when she was a little girl. Tightly held memories of these happy times, playing with her “siblings”, stayed strong throughout her life.
After moving to Webster with her mother and stepfather at about eight years of age, she attended local schools, learned Polish at “Polish School” and ultimately graduated from Bartlett High in 1953. Marriage to Thomas “Tom” Jedrzynski, who passed away on November 11, 1991, and a move to Pierpoint Meadow Pond soon followed. Four children followed, too, and the hectic life of motherhood and family kept her engaged for many years.
Rochelle was frequently called upon by individuals in the community who required companionship and care as a home health provider. She was skilled at this work and was happy and busy in this capacity for many years. Finally, she worked a short time at the American Optical Company in Southbridge before she retired.
Rochelle found joy in simple things in life; the beauty of nature, working the earth with her hands in spring as she planted flowers in her yard, needleworking lovely pieces of wall art and spending time with her friends, children and grandchildren, chatting or going out to lunch together.
Cape Cod was her favorite spot on earth. She visited there as often as she could with her husband, Tom, and more recently, with her beloved brother-in-law, “Uncle Bill” Jedrzynski, who passed away in October 2021. This was her vision of earth: sun, sand, and the rhythm of the waves. Rochelle loved visiting the beach.
Rochelle leaves behind her three adult daughters: Thomasine (Joseph) Tavormina of Incline Village, NV, Katherine (Gary) Bushey and Eileen Jedrzynski (David Bolivar) of Dudley. Her only son, John William, died in 2011. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren are Carla Elise (Tavormina) Freeman of Benicia, CA, Erica Lynn Tavormina of Warren, OR, and brothers Spenser and Brandon Johnson of Dudley. The four great-grandchildren live in Benicia, CA with granddaughter Carla, and her husband Billy Freeman. They are Liam, Angelina, and twins, Scarlett and Paxton.
