Shirley M. (Carlson) Rovezzi

Worcester - Mrs. Shirley M. (Carlson) Rovezzi, age 97 of Pleasant Valley Dr., died on May 3, 2025. Mrs. Rovezzi was born in Worcester, Mass, daughter of the late Albin A Carlson and Mary E (Slattery) Carlson.

She graduated from the former Commerce High school in Worcester and received her B.S. Degree in education from Worcester State University. She worked for many years for the Massachusetts Rehab Rehabilitation Commission, and the Worcester Public schools. Mrs. Rovezzi was a member of the International Society of Poets. She received editor’s choice awards for several of her poems published in Anthologies by the National Library of Poetry.

She is survived by her husband, Amar Sewsankar of Worcester, Mass. A son, James L Rovezzi, and his wife, Sallie Rovezzi of South Windsor, Ct., two granddaughters, Adrienne Evan and husband Michael Evan of Shelton, Ct., And Gianna Rovezzi of South Windsor, Ct., a great grandson, London Rovezzi, great grandson, Maxwell Evan and a great granddaughter Evaura Sorvillo, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Henry A Rovezzi, who died in 1996, and her late brother, Kenneth L Carlson of Vero Beach, Florida.
