Timothy J. O'Neill

Timothy J. O’Neill, 67, passed away on 11/19/21 after a short intense battle with cancer.

Tim was born to Pauline (Kalonas) O’Neill and Raymond O’Neill on December 30, 1953 in Whitinsville, MA. He is survived by his partner in life, Michelle Adams, of Webster MA, son Timothy B., of Douglas MA, his sisters Paula Collins of Sharon MA, Maureen Rymeski of Wells ME, Rebecca O’Neill of Whitinsville MA, his brothers, Dan O’Neill also of Whitinsville and Jon O’Neill, two granddaughters, a niece, several nephews and many close lifelong friends many who knew him as “Odie”.

Tim grew up in Northbridge and Whitinsville MA. He graduated from Northbridge High School.  Tim retired from UPS after 25 years as driver and package handler. Before UPS, Tim worked for many years as a self-employed carpenter. 

Tim had many hobbies and interests.  He was an avid hiker and hiked extensively in the White and Green Mountains, the Smokies and the Rockies. Tim often hiked with friends, and he was always at the lead and carrying the heaviest pack. He had a love of birds and built and maintained elaborate feeders for them in his yard.  Tim taught himself to play the guitar and keyboard. He loved and collected classic guitars.  Tim also loved variety in his music- from old time blues to the latest from Phish.

Tim was always up to date on news and current events and always ready to engage you in conversation on the latest national or world event.

Tim had a smile that lit up the room, and a quiet sense of humor. He was a wonderful partner, brother and friend. Tim will be deeply missed by Michelle, his family and his many close friends. 

At Tim’s request, there will be no calling hours. Also, at Tim’s request, please do not send flowers. Instead, please consider a contribution in his memory to the Appalachian Mountain Club (10 City Square, Boston, MA. 02129). A celebration of his life will be held privately on a future date.
