Webster- Van P. Constantine age 54 passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital after a long term illness. Van leaves his mother Ann T. (Hejwosz) Constantine of Webster, a brother Jeffrey A. Wayman of Templeton, MA and a sister Kathleen A. Ceccarelli and her husband David of South Yarmouth, MA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and literally hundreds of friends bonded by his compassion, caring and ability to make us all feel better.
Van was born in Worcester son of Ann T. (Hejwosz) Constantine and the late Peter T. Constantine. He was a School Teacher in the Webster School system until his retirement. Van taught Advanced English and journalism. He was a Senior Class advisor, former tennis coach, advisor to the Bartlett newspaper and advisor to the National Honor Society. He was an avid tennis player, loved all Boston/New England sports teams, long time Patriots season ticket holder. He was a committed care giver for his Mom. Van was very active at his beloved St. Louis Church serving as Eucharistic Minister and led Confirmation Classes. He was truly a man for all seasons, a gentleman’s gentleman!
Van's funeral will be held from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, Monday, April 4, 2022, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, Lake St., Webster, followed by committal in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 4 pm- 6pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Van Constantine Journalism Scholarship Fund, c/o Town of Webster, Attn: Business Office, Webster, Public Schools, 77 Poland St., Webster, MA 01570.
