Webster – David R. Behunin, age 64, died Friday, February 1, 2013, at home.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Linda T. (Rhodes) Behunin of Webster; two sons, Kent Behunin and Jason Behunin, both of Oregon; a brother, Michael Darrigan of Washington; a sister, Sharie Beale and her husband David Beale of Medford, OR; six grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Lyn and Kit Behunin.

David was born in Salt Lake City, UT, son of the late Sheldon S. Behunin and Joy LaRay (Pierce) Wilkinson, and lived in Holden before moving to Webster 30 years ago.  He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) as were his parents.  He was distantly related to Joseph Smith and 46 of the original pioneers that first came to Salt Lake City.  David always had the pioneering "can-do" spirit that was a hallmark of his ancestors.

By trade, David was a building contractor.  He was a United States Navy veteran, serving four tours in Vietnam.  He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle rider.  David is remembered for his wit, his intellect and his artistic ability, but most of all his big heart and his willingness to always help his friends and those less fortunate than himself and his love and devotion to his wife.

There are no calling hours.  Funeral services and burial are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com.

David has now gone fishing!

Aunt Linda,
We want to extend our deepest sympathy to you. David was a kind and engaging person. I will always remember the chocolate chip cookies along with a pot of coffee on his Sunday morning visits. A great fisherman, I heard stories how he always had the luck in the times he went out with my dad in the boat. You will be missed Uncle David, may you rest in peace.

David, you will be missed more than you will ever know!
From the way you used to call me "jaybird" to the stories
told that were always funny because you were theOne
telling them. You always had a big heart and always made
Everyone feel comfortable. I will truly miss your laugh, your
stories, your visits and your dedication to our family and
friends. You were a wonderful uncle and I will think
about you often.
