Joseph E. Benoit Sr., age 76, of Spencer, died Saturday, August 13, 2016, at home.  

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Jane M. (Dufault) Benoit of Spencer; two sons, Joseph Benoit Jr. of Spencer, Scott Benoit and his wife Gina Benoit of Peachtree, GA.; one daughter, Susan Benoit of Southbridge; three sisters, Helen Pelchat of Spencer, Mary Bigwood of Spencer and Karen Hutchinson of Tennessee; four grandchildren.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Keigney) Benoit and lived in Spencer most of his life.  He was a retired truck driver, having worked many years for Washington Mills in Grafton.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and restoring old cars.
