Webster- Alfred (Fred) Massicotte, age 76, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the UMASS Memorial Healthcare Center.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Mary J. (Suvar) Massicotte; a son, Mark A. Massicotte and his wife Tracey of Baldwinville, MA; a daughter, Jeanne M-A Freer of Wokingham, England; a sister, Patricia Kaliszewski of Sturbridge; four grandchildren, Tristian Freer, Shayla, Kailyn and Daniel Massicotte. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brianna Freer of England.
He was born in Webster, son of the late Alfred J. Massicotte and Katherine (Kitka) Massicotte and lived here all his life. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served on the USS Yorktown. He worked for Digital Equipment Corporation and American Optical HVAC. He was past President of the Bass Pro Fishing Club for 3 years. He enjoyed archery, hunting, fishing and woodworking.
The funeral will be held from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 with a Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial, with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
