Thompson, CT. - Virginia Ann (Laskowski) Elie, age51, passed away on February 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous struggle with breast cancer.

She leaves her husband of 28 years, Kevin Elie; two  loving daughters, Sharissa and Katelyn Elie,  of Thompson; her mother Virginia (Desavage) Laskowski of Worcester; a brother, Joseph Laskowski of Millbury; a sister, Cheryl Parent and her husband Wayne of Worcester; her precious granddaughter, Hope, who have her hope; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father, A.Joseph Laskowski.

Ginny was born in Worcester and was employed at Commerce (MAPFRE) Insurance in Webster.  She enjoyed her family times on Cape Cod, playing at the beach with her hope-a-doodles, fishing, watching the seals, yard sales and more than all, loved to see the ever changing sunrise and sunsets. Ginny stayed  strong and positive through the last five years of her battle.  She is an inspiration to us all and will forever remain "GINNY STRONG"

The funeral will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Saint Joseph Church, Main Street, North Grosvenordale, CT.  Burial, following the Mass will be in East Thompson Cemetery.  Burial will be private for the family.  Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday morning from 9 AM to 10:30 AM.
